Thomas Mann

This week's entry is the 6th of a 10 week series based on interviews Jan did at the ACC show in Baltimore 2010.  Each artist was asked the same question, "how do you define yourself?"

This Friday, New Orleans' own Thomas Mann discusses his jewelry. You may remember reading Mann's outstanding review of our Brooching the Subject exhibition. You can still read our blog post about the exhibition here and Mann's article here

Also, check out his great website, here.

Roger Ogden / Val Lucas

Roger Ogden
Our first guest blogger, Carol Sauvion, owner of Freehand Gallery and Executive Director of the PBS documentary, Craft in America  interviewed Roger Ogden during her recent trip to New Orleans to film the third segment of Craft in America. Listen in to hear Roger talk about  collecting Newcomb pottery,  his love of  art and New Orleans.

Val Lucas
This week Jan is talking to Baltimore Craft Mafia member, Val Lucas at the ACC show, Baltimore. The ACC has, in recent years,  brought in groups of Craft Mafia artists to show and sell their work. It has added a new dimension  to the show and coupled with student work from various universities, it allows visitors to see fresh new work, boundaries being pushed and the vibrancy of the future of craft.
